Since 2006, the ensemble2générations association has worked to bring seniors and students together in intergenerational shared living spaces. Much more than a simple shared accommodation, this experience creates exchanges, sharing and social ties.

Offering intergenerational housing

As the French population ages, seniors are increasingly isolated. Students, on the other hand, face a housing shortage and often have to work.

Ensemble2générations has developed intergenerational housing to meet these challenges,. Intergenerational housing brings together seniors with a spare room and students who get free or low-cost housing in return for their company and some services.

Rolling out the model across France

The association puts particular emphasis on the quality of human relations. It pairs up people with compatible lifestyles to foster trusting friendships.

Public officials and players in senior or housing issues are highly interested in the project, which meets the needs of an aging population. In this context, the association seeks to keep on growing.
