Our governance

The Bettencourt Schueller Foundation is a public-interest foundation created in 1987. Since the family of its founders has provided it with endowments on numerous occasions, it does not seek outside funding.
Board of directors
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors, which sets its strategic objectives, approves its budget and accounts, decides on the grants to offer based on the proposals submitted by the executive team and the committees, and provides general oversight of its activities and overall balance.
In addition to the founders and family members, the Board also includes government officials and qualified individuals.
