// TEST EN // An incubator has been opened at the Viaduc des Arts by the City of Paris to promote the first development of businesses by young craftsmen wishing to express their talents. A precious laboratory in the heart of Paris.

A business incubator for crafts

A business incubator was opened by Paris Création, the Ateliers de Paris endowment fund. It offers five young craftsmen, selected according to criteria of excellence and originality, assistance in launching a business. These young entrepreneurs first benefit from accommodation adapted to their needs, for three years, in the very favorable environment of the Viaduc des Arts, located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. They also find shared services and personalized support: listening and advice, support in management, brand communication, etc. The program also allows them to create, produce (workshop installations, prototyping, etc.), make themselves known and market their production. This step is decisive for consolidating their business and taking off.

Supporting the talents of tomorrow

This project is part of an “incubator plan” designed by the City of Paris to support business creators in all sectors (design, creation, sustainable development, digital economy, etc.). The commitment of the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation naturally extends its sustained interest in the development of fine crafts, and in particular for the economic deployment of this sector. This support is illustrated in particular by the Prize for the intelligence of the hand.

Five young creators

Five craftsmen have been chosen to settle in this nursery until 2016: Camille Roussel, designer of contemporary leather jewelry, Samuel Gassmann, designer of cufflinks, Sika Viagbo, mosaic artist, Karoline Bordas, saddler, leather worker , Lily Alcaraz and Léa Berlier, textile designers.

The Foundation supports crafts

Professionals in the arts and crafts are women and men of passion. Mastering complex know-how, capable of transforming the material to create unique pieces or small series, they shape, restore, imagine works at the crossroads of beauty and usefulness. They are a showcase of excellence and contribute to the influence of France.
