The Institut Télémaque was created in 2005 to give young people the keys to success. It sponsors middle and high school students from modest backgrounds to help them climb the social ladder. It relies on the business world and the educational environment to foster equal opportunity.

An innovative system of dual mentorship

While 30% of executives’ children have postgraduate degrees, only 7% of those from modest backgrounds do. Télémaque promotes equal opportunity in education by supporting young people from middle to high school.

Mentors from the business and educational worlds help young people widen their social and cultural horizons. They introduce them to the working world, foster self-esteem and develop academic perseverance.

Offering a full range of support

The Institut Télémaque helps young people breathe life into a project defined with the sponsor, such as a language course abroad, music or school support. It offers them educational activities such as confidence-building and resumé-writing workshops, company visits and extra-curricular trips to museums or the cinema.

The program works: their baccalaureate passing rate is 97% (compared to 88% nationally) and 78% in the association's target areas. 91% of the mentees believe that their mentor encourages them to pursue a more ambitious path. Since 2005, 1,500 mentors have supported 934 young people in over 100 schools.

Supporting the development of Télémaque

The Bettencourt Schueller Foundation is backing the association at a crucial turning point in its development. It supports its structuring and deployment of the digital tools at the heart of its growth strategy. The foundation's support enables young people to train on an online platform.
