The Foundation's support for French craftsmanship has traditionally showcased and encouraged the winners of the Liliane Bettencourt Prize pour l'intelligence de la main®. But over the years, the need for a change in scale has become obvious. In addition to the award, a series of multi-year grants to organizations or institutions committed to the arts and crafts has strengthened the impact of the Foundation's commitment.

The grants are as many institutional partnerships designed to meet the major challenges facing the sector:
- professional training,
- developing activity and production,
- raising public awareness,
- promoting works and their creators,
- transmitting know-how.
From now on, the award and grants together constitute the Foundation's program to promote the crafts.
