Each year, the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences awards a researcher under the age of 45 for his or her outstanding contribution to his or her field of scientific research.

Depending on the year, the prize is awarded to a researcher working in France or in another European country. Twenty-nine researchers were awarded since 1997. From 2023 on, the laureate personally receives 100,000 euros.

Call for applications

The 2024 edition of the prize will be awarded to a researcher working in a European country, excluding France. The call for candidates among international scientists will be launched from Monday January 8 to Tuesday February 20, 2024. Submission of applications opens on Wednesday February 21, 2024 and closes on Thursday April 18, 2024.
