FRENCH CRAFT SKILLS IN VENICE

The Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, a philanthropic organisation active for nearly 20 years in the arts and crafts, has reaffirmed its commitment to their international impact.

It is helping break down barriers between creative practices, fostering innovation in the arts and crafts and a dialogue between craft skills and architecture by supporting and participating in two major events in Venice:

Infinite places”, presented by the collective “Encore Heureux” for the French Pavilion at the 16th Architecture Biennale to be held in Venice from 26 May to 25 November 2018

The Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, project partner, supports the programme of conferences, screenings and workshops that will enliven the Pavilion during the event.

Homo Faber, Crafting a More Human Future”, the first major international exhibition devoted to the promotion of European craft skills organised by the Michelangelo Foundation at the Giorgio Cini Foundation from 14 to 30 September 2018

For the occasion, the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller has produced a manifesto exhibition, Pour l’intelligence de la main®, bringing together a selection of laureates in a unique contemporary scenography, as a tribute to the twenty years of the Prize of the same name.
